Where Gnats Can Live in Your Home
Have you ever seen an infestation of gnats take over a room as they fly in circles and every which way? Let us tell you — it’s not pretty! While these pests aren’t harmful, they can be a serious nuisance and should be removed.
The most common place you’ll see gnats is in the kitchen, flying recklessly over the trash can or a bowl of over ripened fruit. To remove them, fill a container with apple cider vinegar, soap, sugar, and water, and then cover it with plastic wrap. Poke holes in the wrap so the scent will be released, drawing the gnats toward the solution. The gnats will become trapped within the container, eventually drowning in the solution, leaving you with a pest-free kitchen.
Are there gnats circling the air above your bathroom sink’s drain? Chances are there’s debris in the drain that might be attracting these gnats and it’s up to you to clear it. Purchase yourself a drain-safe cleaner or use a diluted bleach solution and pour it down the drain. Be sure to open a window and wear gloves and a face mask. Afterward, run hot water to flush out the broken up debris, leaving you with clean pipes that won’t attract gnats.
Living Rooms and Bedrooms
Sometimes you might see a single gnat flying around a random room in the house. Sure, you can leave out a cup of your vinegar solution or a glass of wine, but there is a more direct approach. Fill a spray bottle with half vinegar, half water, and a dash of dish soap. Now you can spray and kill them right then and there.
