How to Harmlessly Remove Spiders From Your Home
Spiders — they’re creepy, they’re crawly, and boy are they scary!
No person wants to see an eight-legged pest casually walk past them in the house.
But since most spiders are harmless to the human species, here’s how you can remove them from your home without killing them (if you care to be that kind).
Trapped in a Bubble
One of the best methods for harmlessly removing a spider from your home involves a simple cup and a piece of stationary.
- First, place your clear cup over the spider without crushing it (or its eight legs).
- Next, proceed by sliding the piece of paper underneath the slightly lifted cup until the entire underneath of the cup is covered.
- Finally, lift the cup and paper combo off of the wall, table, or floor (making sure both are pressed firmly against each other) and make your way outside to safely release it.
Trusty Dusty
If you’re too afraid of placing your hand near a spider, opt for the broom and dust pan method.
Place the dust pan on the floor near the spider and sweep it onto the pan. Pick up the dust pan and begin tapping the underneath of it as you make your way to the door.
The vibrations from your finger tapping will scare the spider and cause it to stand completely still (instead of it running off of the dust pan).
The Backup Plan
If you’re absolutely terrified by spiders, then you might have to resort to the backup plan — the vacuum.
Put your vacuum on the lowest setting and suck ‘em right up! Yes, there is a chance that this suction will kill the spider, but that’s why it’s the backup plan. Is this method harmless? Not necessarily, but it is effective!
Just remember to empty out the vacuum bag when you’re done.
If you’re the type of person that can’t muster up the strength to squash a spider (or are just too compassionate), these removal methods are just for you!
