How to Naturally Repel Garden Pests
All of the plants, flowers, fruits, and veggies have been planted and are already growing in nicely.Unfortunately, there are many kinds of pests that keep finding their way into your own little slice of paradise.
Don’t even think about reaching for those chemicals when there are natural ways to repel these pests!
- String & Shiny Objects – Attach things that are shiny, like CDs, to string and hang them around your garden. This can disorientate and distract birds and squirrels, preventing them from entering your garden. The more they move in the breeze and reflect in the sunlight, the more effective they are.
- Special Herbs – Squirrels can really ruin a garden and any produce you may have. Luckily, they are not too fond of herbs like mint or garlic. Rather than planting random plants throughout your garden, plant them in small pots and place them at the edges of your garden.
- Peppering Pests – Many pests do not like hot peppers, so naturally you should plant some in your garden. Not only will you have a pest free garden, but now you will have fresh hot peppers to cook with! However, if you don’t like hot peppers you can always create a solution of cayenne pepper, soap, and water to spray down your garden with.
- Rabbit Season – Rabbits may be cute and cuddly, but they can wreak havoc on your garden. Try soaking a rag in apple cider vinegar and leaving it at the edge of your garden. This will deter the rabbits from entering; and this will also work on those pesky deer!
Is it too much to ask for a beautiful garden without pests ruining it?
