Pests That Are Most Likely Living in Your Home
Just because you haven’t seen a pest inside of your home recently, doesn’t mean there aren’t a few of them in some really good hiding spots. Unfortunately, there are more than just a few pests that can easily infest your home, especially in the winter. Here are the most likely candidates that you could see scurry past you in the coming days.
Cockroaches
If you ever see a single cockroach roaming around your home, you can be almost certain that there is an entire infestation hiding somewhere. You’ll want to contact a pest management company immediately before they have the chance to spread the bacteria and diseases they carry, like Salmonella and and E. coli. Don’t think that just because you don’t leave food scraps or crumbs out that they’ll die off — they can live over a month without food!
Bed Bugs
Infestations of these seed sized pests are oftentimes overlooked because bed bugs are nocturnal. To add to the difficulty of finding an infestation, not everyone will react negatively to the bite of a bed bug. So a person could be sleeping in a bed filled with them for weeks without ever realizing. To check for these blood sucking pests, turn the lights off and use a flashlight to check your mattress, covers, bed frame, furniture, and clothing.
Rodents
Mice and rats can easily squeeze through cracks and holes in the exterior of your home to gain entrance to their new humble abode. Rodents are known for being covered in bacteria that can spread deadly diseases (have you ever heard of the plague?) Other than being able to make you deathly ill, rodents can also chew through the wooden structure of your home and electrical wires. An infestation of these pests will force you to empty your wallet out to the doctor, electrician, and remodelers.
Your home can be infested by almost any type of pest, but there are a select few that have a good chance of already being there. When you need to remove a pest infestation from your home, contact Knockout Pest Control. To learn more, or to schedule an inspection, give u a call at (800) 244-7378.
